My daughter walks in the room and said Ma what cha doing? I said I am ordering all your AP study cards and books for the summer. LOL..she said MAAA........school just got out yesterday. I said and your point is? I told her I want you to Google the study habits of Chinese and Indian students on that machine that ipad or whatever you call it. You know the machine that most likely was created by one of those studying Chinese or Indian students. Well, I was just told that I am truly a tiger mom. I asked her how are you going to get into Harvard or Yale if you take the summer off? She said Harvard/Yale...I said o.k. Standford were not uppity! LOL Well she just ran out the room. LOL I am kidding with her (about what college, not the summer studying, lol) but she want be taking the whole summer off to do nothing. Studying is part of her life, she might as well get used to it. Shes already upset her AP English teacher gave her a list of books to read this summer. I am giving her the rest of the week off, o.k. 2 weeks. Then its 4 days of studying per week 4 hours per day, during the summer. I think thats fair. M-Thursday. All times are negotiable when were doing fun stuff. She only has to study for 4 classes thats 1 hour each. Geometry, Chemistry, English, History. Shes lucky she already knows enough Spanish so that class is a breeze. She will thank me later, especially when she doesnt have to stress when school starts back because she will be prepared. And dont start judging me folks, LOL... its no excuse in AMERICA for our kids to lag behind in almost every subject because of lack of discipline. Kids can play video games for 4 hours a day 7 days a week so why not cut that time in half and study. Balance the video games with studying.
