My dear esteemed supporters and followers, a short while ago, I received a call from one of the elder statemen from Lapai (name withheld for obvious reasons) informing me that: 1- A committee has been set up by Engr. Abdulkadir Kure to meet with my elder sister, Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim Kuchi, and my humble self to impress upon us the need for me to step down for my elder brother, Hon. Ibrahim Ebbo; 2- That he is the chairman of the committee; and 3- That they will like to meet with us separately on Sunday, starting with my elder sister. Out of my respect for him, I listened carefully and I replied by saying that I will be more than happy to meet and discuss with respected members of my constituency. And that I will be more than happy to make myself available when they are meeting with my elder sister, once I confirmed her availability for Sunday; as opposed to meeting with her first and then me afterwards. What I found surprising however, is that Engr. Abdulkadir Kure, was among the elders from my constituency that I consulted before declaring my intention to run for the office of member House of Representatives; and we have been in constant contact through the phone and he has never at anytime told me not to run. But I guess that is something I have to check up with him ... No cause for alarm though, and I will let you know my response to the esteemed members of the committee in due course. Out of my respect for them, and the personality of the person that set up the committee, I think I owe it to them to let them know what our position is before letting the cat out of the bag.
