My dear fellow Slackliners from all over India! It seems that all of us slowly but steadily are getting more and more involved into walking the line and promoting the “sport” of slacklining in India. It has been quite some time since I discovered slacklining for myself and I have to say it has been quite a ride since then. However since quite some time we organize kind of regular slackline sessions with friends and newcomers and the feedback so far was throughout positive. During the last session our group sat together and we talked about the possibility of organizing some kind of informal slackline meeting for and with all of you. Our idea is the following. We would like to invite you for a long weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) to Delhi to have something like a All India Slackline Gathering. At the moment we thought about the following dates: 28.03 – 30.03 or 11.04 – 13.04 For these dates the only thing you would basically need to take care of is to how to get to Delhi. Everything else we would sort out for you, meaning accommodation, equipment, basic travels. The best thing would be if you could arrive here a day before the mentioned dates and plan your travel back a day after the mentioned dates, so that we would have the whole long weekend for slacklining. Ok…so what we would do within these 3 days? We thought about offering you a mix of different lines in different places. This would include a sessions at our beloved Hauz Khas village park spot that provides space for a setup of diverse lines (1x100meter longline, 1x 60meter longline, 1x jump/trickline, 1x triangular rigged low practice line, and even more if we want to). Next to this we could spend a day at the JNU university complex in Delhi where we would create a similar setup. Also we are planning to setup a waterline in the outskirts of Delhi…the only thing missing for that till now is a drill…which maybe you have? However. That’s the plan I we would like to hear from you what you think of it and if you could make it to any of the above mentioned dates to Delhi. Based on your replies we would get into further planning and make this thing happening. We would be very happy meeting and greeting each one of you here in Delhi and so bring our small slackline family a little closer together. And yes depending on the outcome of this idea we would love to do the same later on in your city / slackline hotspot too!
