My dear friend Patrick asked me to post a song starting with the letter A and tell the story about the first time I heard it. Anyone who likes the post and wants to participate will be given a letter too. I recently posted All is full of Love by Björk but my absolute favorite version is this one by the children of the Bitone Center & Troupe. https://youtube/watch?v=xb2WGnlP70c I was in New High Mart in LA when I first heard this song, and still to this day, it gives me goosebumps. My hard copy of the song has long since left me in my nomadic days- but I will replace this CD if I ever have the opportunity again, as its sale supports the Bitone Center. The mission of The Bitone Childrens Center/Troupe is to restore the lives and hopes of Ugandan children between 8 and 18 years old who have lost their parents or homes due to the various hardships faced in Uganda. Through learning traditional African music, dance, folklore and theater, the children build self-esteem, become self-reliant and contribute to creating a peaceful future for the next generations of Ugandans and others worldwide.
