My dear friends! I know many of you for more then decade and together we went and still going through a big struggle for human rights and human dignity, especially of Roma people. Each one of us has own story, own personal struggles, but at the same time we find enough inner capacity to do something together, to do something for better future of all. In this world full of prejudice and hatred each one has own formula of survival and achieving the positive goals. And this formula in someone`s life includes also the ability to keep own secrets and half-secrets. But for the sake of self-integrity, honesty and sincerity the time comes when we have to be truly honest and sincere. This is especially relevant when you find out that you are actually in a friendly and compassionate social environment (correctly indicated by someone as open society). Thanks to my 15 years of active participation in the international Romani movement I realised that right now I have to be honest with you and not to be secret or half-secret in something that I for a number of reasons did not highlight while being fully immersed into Roma cause, while living mostly in Israel since year 1995. This little detail relates to the fact that by the fact of birth I am not only from a Romani and Jewish background, but I am also part-Chinese. Below you can see the link, which leads you to the article posted in June 2010 on the website of one Honkong-based human rights activist and then published in the magazine Jewish Times of Asia. Of course, that article written by good-willing journalist requires few minor corrections, but in general fact is that fact: by my genetics and mindset I relate to three civilizations: Romani, Jewish and Chinese. And among them I value the Romani one first. And I do not deny my ethnic belonging also to Jewish and Chinese people, as well as socio-cultural one to the people of former USSR (I was born and grew up in Ukraine in 1970 and lived also in Moscow and Siberia before my emigration to Israel). PLEASE do not ask me questions which would put me and my family under microscope of calculations regarding percents of blood and levels of community affiliation. Generally speaking, I revealed for you the half-secret of international Romani movement, the thing which was known to some, but not to everyone. Even so someone could guess my direct connection to Oriental people. I do not agree with the ones who suspect in me someone`s spy ... I am only the spy of Good Will. And my life is dedicated to Roma cause. I can say it is dedicated to it fully. And I also manage to share concerns to the other causes of this sophisticated world. It can be the same or it can change. And I hope it will change to a more positive direction. Right now you know a little bit more about me and I am honest with you. This is ME!
