My dear friends, Vashudaiva kutum cum (the world is my family). Quite a whike ago, I read a passing comment in the Facebook on the thought of the government to initiate centralised schooling system. May be it is well thought taking into consideration the ecological, social and econonical considerations. Only crises the world suffers from today is the relationship in and to: environment, society and economics. In this, the prime separation began from family. All the misunderstanding, greed for more, sufferance and disharmony in the societies have begun from missing relationship. The research has shown that when families disintegrate the elderly people suffer and the younger get separated from the expanse of existence in search of happiness which the deluded self looks for sensation and are totally taken by consumerism, which they conclude is not found in rural life and rapid migration begins. If the government decides to consolidate schools, it must serve the following purposes: 1. Family environment where parental relationship exists with teachers, and brotherly and sisiterly relationship among students thrives. A system must be built here to succeed this kind of relationship - making every child resposible of another child and closing the loop so each one (child) is related to all other children. 2. Children must be made to understand the relationship in the expanse of our existence and their role as a unit in this co-existence - the four orders of our earth; physical, plants, animal and human. Although human beings are at the end of this order, they behave as one on the top if it. Children (and we) must learn to be merged as a part of the ecology and the not the master of it. 3. They must realise the need of physical facility (PF) in relation to the purpose of life. PF stands for nourishing food (not based on taste alone and away from packed / junk food) for our bodies, chothes just enough to wear e.g. a levis or an ordinary jean serves the same purpose. Brands and fame are not lasting as compared to relationship. More or bigger does not translate to happiness nor does to fame... they are momentary an show off is delusion to name and respect. People do not appreciate what you are in but who are you in. They must learn to consume right things be it in books, magazines, internet or television. 4. Right understanding in things as they are as opposed to what is conditioned in their minds must emerge. Example, advertisement today tells us what to eat, what to wear or apply. Every child (for that matter everyone of us) must learn to verify what is realistic / true. Desire and thought that passes us every moment must be verified right from wrong. Children must learn to imagine and image things that can bring happiness to themselves, family and communities they live in. In this matter every child must be equipped to analyse their thoughts, words and actions. 5. They (the children) must learn to understand between the deluded and and real self. In this they must be let to understand the true purpose of living as a unit in this expanse of our existence. There must be farming connected with every school - they must be given the relaisation of the importance of farming and biodiversity. Those who learn to live in relationship must be recognised. Thus life is simple, all we need is food to nourish our bodies, clothes enough (not more) to protect our bodies from different climatical conditions, and roof over head to protect us; because all others.. wealth, name and fame are impermanent. What is permanent in ones life is THE SELF. Therefore we must learn to nuture the self through contemplation, understanding and realisation. These practices through the mindful meditation would bring us to the realisation of the self that is all pervading. We eat meat becuase the butcher knows that we eat. Therefore he kills the animals in our names - who is a bigger sinner then? Killing animals forces the self to leave the bodies and we eat that while the self watches us in the act of eating it. Imagine we are watching some horrendous being tearing and eating our flesh in front of us. Similarly, if we consume excessively things like clothes, electronic gadgets, cars, food and drinks, etc... the producer will keep producing more and more. These productions rips and forces our earth to over produce material and things much more than her biocapabilty and unimaginable waste takes place which has led to global warming.
