My dearest Pilipinas, bayan kong sinilingan (place of birth), maraming salamat (thank you) for a wonderful vacation! Our vacation is officially over! Hopefully, my children learned something from this experience. Philippines, you have shown my children how cruel, corrupt, and poor life could be - children undressed, barefooted on the streets, no shoes to go to school, begging for money or food; taxi drivers overcharging us 3x the actual travel cost; the crowd, traffic jams & crazy drivers everywhere we go!!!!! We enjoyed every experience we encountered from eating our meal on a banana leaf, washing our hands with no sink, riding the tricycles and jeepneys for transportation, eating street foods, feeding the penguins, touching the sting ray with our bare hands, riding a horse to the top of the volcano, and so much more that we dont get to do in Guam! Philippines, you also shown my children how beautiful your land can be - Boracay is such a paradise! It will make you forget that there are poor people around the area. The food are so scrumptious especially the halo-halo! I dont know how many I ate! I gained so much weight!!!!! Overall, Philippines trip was such an awesome adventure! Of course, we wont miss the heat! Guam heat is enough! We need to realize how blessed we are! We have so much more to celebrate and be thankful for everyday! We need to admit that we take things for granted. With all that said, thank you Lord for giving us the opportunity to travel and experience the wonders of the world. Sorry if we take things for granted and not appreciate what we already have. Having to see places like the Philippines remind us of how lucky we are and blessed. Please continue to shower us with your blessings. In Jesus name, Amen! Thank you for everything! We love you!
