My disability is something I fight to gain perspective on daily. And I usually win. But today I came up dry in the middle of a timed workout when the grip in my left hand was fatigued and quit working. I felt like it was keeping me back from reaching a goal. I couldnt seem to get past that for whatever reason and ended up finishing what I could teary eyed and so frustrated. Not ten minutes after the workout did a police car pull up outside the open garage door and the officer wanted to talk to me. I walked outside and realized it was the police officer that was present the day of the accident. We have seen each other every few years since but today he came by to say hello and see how I was doing. That totally put things back in perspective for me as I was reminded that I am really lucky to be alive.
