My dog Abby is getting up there. Its sad to see a loved one gradually lose the functional abilities we all take for granted. She is not in pain, or at least gives no indication of it. She is sitting, quite peacefully out back by the skateboard ramp, probably hoping Luke will come home soon. She loves that boy. She doesnt like to eat her dog food much anymore, but Kirk makes her pb&j sandwiches all the time, which she gulps down readily. I believe in death with dignity. We love her so, and when her time comes, itll be hard to say goodbye, but we have to accept this part of life. We are making sure we each have some close Abby conversations with her whenever we can.
