My dog died yesterday. After 13 years, I had to put him down. He was in pain and it was the right thing to do. It wasn’t easy. He was a good one. His name was BEAR. In the interest rate market, the Bear is very much alive. The Bulls died May 23rd when Bernanke pulled the plug on QE3. The run up in long term rates has been brutal. And with today’s jobs numbers being a disappointing 162,000 (220,000 have to be created just to break even), Fixed Rates mortgages should be rallying. They’re not. The Bull market in bonds is dead. Let’s hope real estate can survive these higher rates. Sleep tight, Mr. Bear. maloneysmortgagenews
