My emails to U-Haul.... Hello. Please do not let this happen - TopicsExpress

My emails to U-Haul.... Hello. Please do not let this happen tomorrow. Innocent baby ducks were killed yesterday for absolutely no reason. U-Haul does not benefit in any way by destroying these natural ponds. I will have the media here tomorrow morning if I need to. I will personally block the entrance to the pond where 5 geese and 20+ ducks live. I could not save the ducks in the north retention pond, but I will save these. Margaret _____________________________________________________ I appreciate that Bob. I know they are off today, they told me yesterday, they will not be back until Monday. The ponds are for rain water run-off. They have no other purpose, and are required by law. The birds have made this their home. Your customers could not care less about the ponds. They are not a “destination”, they are simply a required utility. If anything, the customers enjoy looking at the wildlife that inhabits the ponds. I have had several families join me to engage and try to interact with the geese. (They are amusing, vocal, and very entertaining.) The ponds, in their natural state, are beautiful. I am not trying to cause a stir. I appreciate wildlife, and hope U-Haul does too. These ponds do not win or lose you any customers. They can though. This is not about my husband. He works his butt off for this place. It is, for some reason, in his bones. Please do not punish him for my brazenness. I have never been a silent partner. Please do not take my diatribe out on him. He cares about this place. I care about him and about the wildlife that I am fortunate to share this place with. I am OK with an area on the south west bank of the south pond to remain grassy. There may also be a willow tree in this area that can be left for some shelter. I will sent Thomas from E-ZEE tree service a text and ask him to leave some tall grass in that area. Bob Margaret Berry writes: Hi Bob. This is Rick’s wife, Margaret. The men are here clearing out everything in the ponds. They are in the north pond today, south one Monday I assume. I know it is not my place and Rick will most likely be furious at me for asking, but is there a possibility that they could leave some ground cover in the south pond for the geese to nest in? There are 5 geese that live in that pond. Two are about to lay eggs and need a place to hide to do that. Just some area in a corner would do. If everything is gone, like it is in the north pond, they will not have any safe areas to hide from the hawks. They also need the small trees for shade. The men have destroyed the 4 duck nests that were in the north pond, so those babies are all dead. I am just trying to protect the ducks and geese in the south pond. Thank you for listening!
