My families legacy..........Here is my brother Tom and sister-in-law Joanne standing in front of the new.....YOUNG BROTHERS SEED TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD......Very cool (at least to me). My grandfather Guilford E. Young SR. and his brothers Gene and George were early farming PIONEERS. Putting the plow to the prairie....they broke up large pieces of Western South Dakota for the first time, with mechanized farming. The Young Brothers Seed Technology Building ... In honor of the brothers George, Eugene, and Guilford Sr. and their contributions to the Pioneering of grain farming in the Western Dakotas. "Wednesday, September 25th was a simple but important dedication of the new Seed Technology Building at the new Research Park on the campus of South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. This building will be named in honor of the Young Brothers and will tell a brief story of how these brothers made their mark in farming on the prairies of SD. This building will house the SD Crop Improvement Association and Research Laboratories that are the envy of researchers across the United States. The research at this facility will have a huge impact on crops grown not only in South Dakota but the world around!"~Tom Young Very proud of my brother Tom who continues his farming legacy.
