My familys favorite way of eating Stroodles Stroodles 4 c flour 1 tsp salt 1 egg 1 1/4 c warm water Cream (1 pint) 1/2 onion Cubed potatoes Crisco Mix first 4 dough ingredients & knead well. Put in bowl and cover to rest. In electric fry pan put cut potatoes, couple Tbsp crisco and cover with water. Cook until tender. Roll out dough and spoon on about 2 tsp melted crisco to help stretch dough. Stretch dough from underneith with your fists stretching it paper thin. If it tears its ok. Roll up about 3 times. Cut the long way and then cut into 3 inch pieces. Continue with rest of dough until gone. I just scrunch mine... layer on top of potatoes and cover and cook about 20 min or until you hear frying. DO NOT LIFT LID while cooking. Reduce heat and cook another 15 min. While cooking brown some onions in a little oil then add container of cream. Add salt (to your liking, but you will need quite a bit to get some flavor)and cook until heated. Remove stroodles and potatoes and eat with onion grave over the top. I usually triple my batch because they go quick. Ppl probably have other name for this recipe but we always called it stroodles with onion gravy since I was a kid.
