My father Dick he was a very special man, Someone so magical, you - TopicsExpress

My father Dick he was a very special man, Someone so magical, you wish to buy one in a can, He welcomed us with open arms, and put up with quite a lot, Rowdy teenagers all over the house, but he didnt mind a jot. He had a special chair, in the corner of the room, And should you dare to sit in it, youd be ejected very soon. You only sat in that chair, if you wanted to pay the bills, But pushing my luck with him was just another thrill. He had a lovely tone of voice, that I could listen to for hours, Whilst sitting in the conservatory, looking at the flowers. He loved the garden in full beautiful bloom, And one day we talked of the man on the moon. Alright there lass, he would say, now come and have a seat. Can I get you something? Maybe just a little drink! He always was a proper gentleman, in oh so many ways, My promised drink, it would arrive upon a silver tray. As time passed and up we grew, he was so very proud Though at times he knew, our heads were in the clouds. He listened to our hopes and fears, but never did he judge, Just gave a nod of the head, and sometimes a little nudge. But now hes gone and left us, and we really werent quite ready Our grief and sadness of our loss, is feeling really heavy, The only comfort that we take, and for you its not so scary Cos now you are reunited, with your beloved Mary.
