My father, Richards birthday is tomorrow, April 2. He was born in 1929. With my mom, Richard Marilynn Emery they started the bicycle business that my brother Ben, Slim Emery, and I run 51 years after that start. My dad is a depression baby who helped with keeping the family together through tough times. He graduated from grade school to the school of life, which he graduated from with flying colors! He was a bit too young for most of WW2, worked in steel mills and later at Allen Bradley as a machinist, raised 7 kids with an iron will and a dedicated heart: us kids are all very different, yet all have been successful from our dad and moms great examples of work and planning and balancing it all with fun. He was active at St Leos, was a local politician and human rights activist, was a successful business owner, has enjoyed not-so-rough camping and many nights by the fire, led an owners buyout of a community in Florida that resulted in many people growing their retirement money and many more things that cast a large shadow in life. He is loved and admired by so many. If you know him from any of the many lifes he has led, please reach out to him and wish him a happy birthday. We wish him many more.
