My father loved cars. Never owned a new one. But sure had some rides in the day! Not rides like a 50 year old man who buys a red Ferrari to go get chicks....just the opposite...a man who takes what he barely could afford, builds it and drives the wheels off of it. Cars such as -a 1940 Buick coupe. .a Walton like model A pick up., a 47 Pontiac a 49 Pontiac a 50 and 51 ford coupe. A 53 Buick. A 56 Pontiac that screamed! A 56 olds! A 59 pontiac ! A 59 Buick! A 62 Buick! A 62 a 63 a 64 Pontiac..... a 66 olds delta 88 .... none coated more than 800.00. They all were fast or nice , but see, he is only about family and working to provide.... and there was the 1940 ford coupe! Cadillac engine. No back seat. Back Floor was aluminum with molded formed squares... (imagine a egg carton...) these squared held in place ...a crate....hmmmm.... could he drive ? What you think! Could it move? It was witnessed that as he shifted at 100 mph, that dang car fish tailed ...not once but always.... this is how he was into the NASCAR crowd! I brought some of this up earlier....
