My father on the other hand taught me how to plant a garden, shoot and handle guns, bows and arrows, launch rockets, put up a tent, build a fire, build a crystal radio from scratch, gave me a Chemistry set, a Rocks and Minerals Set, an Electronic set, a microscope, a telescope, science books. He taught me how to fish and to scale and cook one. He taught me how to work on cars and engines and he even bought me a Wankel engine model to build since our cars did not have them, I never got to build it though. He bought me a jigsaw and my own hand tools. Now my grandfather he taught me how to skin a rabbit and a Deer and he took me hunting a few times. I had begged and begged my grandfather in England to take me hunting, I even threw a fit of silence. So they gave in. Okay if you really want to go... So that night he took us out in the Land Rover to Mr. Cobbles Farm, me and my brother. We were Jack rabbit hunting when they overpopulated they became a detriment they also provided life sustenance. So my Grandfather was driving and Sam the Son of the owner of the Farm (who my cousin later married because his wife ran off with a rock band, worked out better for him she was much younger and totally hot) was in the passenger seat. So we were driving and bouncing through the fields in the darkness headlights illuminating. Guns pointing out the windows or the crack of an open car door. They would come upon a rabbit or two and bang bang bang while coming to a stop. They would run quickly to the rabbits if they were still moving the would pick them up and strike them down to the ground to put them out of there suffering. Then they tossed them in the back with me and my brother. There was one problem through one of the rabbits in the growing pile was still alive and suffering. My little brother threw up I thought I dont really like hunting, this is not a pretty site, there must be a better way. It wasnt the death, it was the suffering that was a problem. I understand the need in certain situations and the benefits of hunting. Hunting correctly, being a good shot, and with compassion the suffering was minimized.
