My father was my hero. He stood about 5 ft 3 in but he was a giant in my eyes, and he was the strongest man I knew growing up. He taught me to work hard, do the very best I could, take pride in my work and give more than I was paid for. Because of him, my brothers; Blaine, Glen, Michael and Marvin, and my sons; Kenneth, Kyle, Keith, Karl, Krae, Kris, Kurt & Korey and my husband Ken, are the best men I know. Sidley Lavern Walker aka Grandpa Cookie, you are, you were and you will always be my father for all eternity. Happy Fathers Day all you wonderful men and if you are half the man my father was/is you are great men. FATHER I am glad you were chosen to be my dad. Through the eternities it will be so. On this earth Through the eyes of a little girl... You were everything. You could fix anything. From a broken toy to A broken heart. You were daddy. Through the eyes of a young girl... You were most handsome. You worked too hard. You loved to tease, but you were careful Not to hurt my character. I knew you loved me. Through the eyes of a young woman... You worried, protected, Cared. When I needed you most You were there. You allowed me to be me. I loved you. Through the eyes of a young mother... Others came into my life, But you were still everything. You could fix anything From a broken toy to A broken heart. You were grandpa. Through my eyes now... You are ageless wisdom. A rock made priceless By sacrifice, hard work. Quiet dignity etched there From selfless love. When I think of my Heavenly Father, I see your face. Karen Walker Stumpf Written for my father Sid L.
