My favorite Christmas song: Like many of you, I listen to many songs that are meaningful during the holiday season. It is very difficult to choose one that stands above the rest but if I had to make a choice, I would choose Amy Grants, My Grown Up Christmas List based solely on the words. Oh, I enjoy the music but I identify with the lyrics. My childhood was filled with the traditional secular holiday trimmings that revolve around Santa Claus. As I grew up it became clear that life was about more than my personal needs and getting presents. Life throws some pretty hard lessons at us as we get older. To see and experience hardships broaden our minds and develops compassion for others, at least I hope it does. We may not be able to change the world but how about our community or even our homes.
