My favorite memory of Nyes: getting thrown out with Druce Wolf (Bruce J McGuire) and My Bloody Valentine in 1992. Easily one of my Top 5 real life Spinal Tap moments. As quaint, entertaining and classic Minnesota Nice as that place could be, Al Nye and his staff of old school North East biddies were about as uncool and inhospitable as could be that night. Considering what a tourist trap it is now, I cant see how the current owner isnt making money. My guess is that they want to sell that real estate to some developer wholl bulldoze it and turn the lot into over priced condos occupied by yuppie dinks who work downtown. Minneapolis: the city that hates anything that isnt sparkly and new.
