My favorite of the monkey anoles, and one that we are fortunate enuf to see on almost every trip to the Peruvian Amazon. Polychrus marmoratus, the Amazonian monkey anole. In many ways these interesting arborealist polychrotines converge on the Old World chameleons. Superficial appearance, gait (hand over hand, foot over foot), and dependence on camouflage, are among the similarities. However the tail is proportionately long and only weakly prehensile and although they grasp the twigs that form their arboreal highways the toes are not bundled.
