My favorite quote from any book, story, or movie (outside of the bible). This simple wisdom has been like a faithful friend when the world seems to go dark and I wished the burden placed on me had never come at all... calling this to remembrance is a great comfort. It is not for us to decide if difficult seasons come our way, but We do get to decide what to do with them once they come. Seeing all the sickness, despair, and death over the nearly 30 years of CitiHope work; it is easy to become sullen and hopeless. Yet again and again, God continually shows me the tremendous good in this world and the beauty He has placed in the hearts of so many. It is worth fighting for with every second of every minute of every hour of every day we are given and I pray my life will do just that.
