My favorite scene in Good Morning, Vietnam is when Robin Williams and Forest Whitakers characters get stuck in traffic behind a convoy of army soldiers, and the Robin Williams character is reluctantly revealed to the soldiers as the hysterically entertaining radio disc jockey they all listen to in Saigon and in the field. During the scene, the joy and appreciation on the faces of the young soldiers is obvious, while the Robin Williams character realizes how important his role in the conflict really is to helping take the minds of the army soldiers off the reality of Vietnam and their fears of possibly being killed in combat.
