My favorite story in Small Victories is called Barn-Raising, about - TopicsExpress

My favorite story in Small Victories is called Barn-Raising, about a toddler named Olivia Davis who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, which is dire and incurable. Its how all of us in her community surrounded her family like white blood cells. My church and Im have prayed for this girl for two decades. (She owes me.). You can read the original story here, if you are in the mood for a story about grace and mystery and Love; capital L Love. Its pretty funny, on top of being about God in Her major show-off mode. Laughter as carbonated holiness. Healing, against all odds. salon/1996/10/08/lamott961007/ But it is from 18 years ago, and I mean, lets update our miracles here. I am beyond happy to announce Olivias triumphant release of her first album, alt-country Americana. She wrote and sings lead vocals on all the songs. With a dire, progressive disease that destroys the lungs, for which there is no cure. I mean, right? So, if you want to have your mind blown, open her website: oliviadavismusic. You can meet her, hear the songs, buy it, order the album at iTunes, or you can just be there in it, with your mouth hanging open at the beauty of her voice, heart, mind. I have never once promised you a miracle story and not delivered on that. This is another story about the movement of grace in our collective lives, about something visible that just cant have happened on this side of eternity. As someone told me last month, Faith is hope with a track record, and this is why Olivia gives me. Listen to two lines of her vocals, and tell me I am wrong. OLIVIADAVISMUSIC.COM
