My favorite takeaway from Mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT) - TopicsExpress

My favorite takeaway from Mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT) part A was this (paraphrased with my thoughts mingled in there): Checking someones range of motion one time is good for getting a baseline, but you need to check ranges of motion repeatedly because LIFE is repetitive motion. How can you assess how someones symptoms will respond to LIFE if you dont check how their body actually works in life? How will we know what to recommend people do more of and less of if we never assessed it in a realistic way? If they have been having back pain for years and have been afraid to bend over for years, how do we KNOW flexing them will make them worse based on one rep, loaded? Cant freaking wait to integrate this method of assessment and treatment. The real topper to this all is then finding WHY someone needs repetitive motions. What in their life are we needing to undo?
