My favourite records of all time John Coltrane Ole I bought - TopicsExpress

My favourite records of all time John Coltrane Ole I bought a copy of this lp at the markets when Id moved to London in the first half of 1977. Punk rock was the rage but most of it left me a bit cold, you remember that Lou Reed song? Youve been doing things I gave up years ago? Or whatever it was called.? Anyway... food in Britain didnt have a great rep in those days, but Ive got to say the best hamburgers Id ever had were to be got from a mobile stall in Hampstead on the walk to the markets in Camden . [yes even better than the burgers that Jeff Wegener introduced to me to in his home town of Ipswich -the renowned Jimmy Wa burger... Jimmy you may be gone but not forgotten] Anyway I bought a lot of records because they looked interesting ….this was one of them. Listen to the dual double bass parts which start at around the 10 minute mark...this was a bit before electronic guitar feedback. -[fwiw my original copy was on the London UK label in mono which does something extra to the two bass parts] heres a youtube link https://youtube/watch?v=_Z5cRYd1Vr4
