My feeling about the title Redskins is in the same category as the title Buffalo Soldiers: I tend to see both as a salute between warriors. The buffalo skin is black and the Plains warriors identified their adversaries as part of their environment. Plus, I like the song. I understand the merits of the plaintiff complaint and I feel they are turning their back on their own heritage, but that is their privilege. Being in the same category as the Buffalo Soldiers is a singular honor. I have absolutely no sympathy for the mercenary sensitivities of Dan Snyder. Just to stick to him is worth the price of admission, but the fact is, he will probably profit from a name change.
