My feet will want to walk to where you are sleeping but I shall go on living. Pablo Neruda So many bereaved moms have shared with me over the years how torn they are after losing a child. They want to live for their family who is still here but a part of them doesnt want to live because they so long to be with their beloved child who has died. Many have had to find their own reasons to live. Many bereaved moms also shared with me that they didnt consider themselves to be suicidal and yet if they got diagnosed with a terminal illness or were involved in a fatal crash- they would be okay with that. They were so conflicted. . What helped you or helps you now? At what point did you stop wishing you had died too? Melody Beatty lost her son in a skiing accident when he was young. She wanted to go and be with him but her 15 year old daughter was alive and she knew she couldnt leave her too. She wrote the great book, A Reason to Live. Highly recommend it.
