My fellow citizens of Akwa Ibom I thank you for all the comments you have contributed to the Akwa Ibom 2015 debate. Let me assure all of you that we all share the same hope of a better future and the understanding that that future must be built on the foundation put in place by Governor Godswill Akpabio and his predecessor Obong Victor Attah. We must build on these achievements because it is prudent and wise. When we accept these truths, the required atmosphere for sustainable development will emerge for the benefit of all. The agitation for an Eket senatorial district governor though strengthened by a moral argument, one as old as the scriptures I.e equity and justice, it must however meet the expectations of the Akwa Ibom people vis-a-vis unity, peace and development. That governor of Eket Senatorial district extraction must have the capacity to unite Akwa Ibom and not polarize us along ethnic , political or economic groupings. He or she must have the intellect to fashion a development blue print that will take off from where Governor Akpabio will have ended, the humility to seek advice and the tenacity to follow through and implement . Finally, that governor must be accountable to the Akwa Ibom people and not to his/her ethnic extraction. If given the opportunity, I am confident that I can meet these expectations of the Akwa Ibom people. I believe we are on the right track and may God help us. Larry Esin
