My fellow #realdjs... As painful as it may be for you to hear this... Steve Aoki DJd... yes, really DJd his ass off last night. (He also paid a sincere heartfelt tribute to DJ AM that about put me in tears. Cheers for that, Steve...) Sure, he covered the crowd in cake, blah blah... But Ill tell you this... I was within 10 ft of him & his DJ setup, (which I personally set up and checked w/ his TM,) the whole set and no trickery. He has a couple extended tracks that played out while the raft and cake spectacle ensued but, yes... I repeat yes... He was really DJing, (selecting, mixing etc..,), and yes he threw down a very entertaining, well mixed and definitely NOT pre-mixed set before my very eyes. Minus the cake, it took me back to the first time we played together around 05/06. Whatever... just wanted to share some positive truth amidst all the sour negativity out there these days. Church, swag etc...
