My final post regarding independence before the votes are cast, Im - TopicsExpress

My final post regarding independence before the votes are cast, Im sure most of you will be relieved to know. I dont quite know how to sum everything up, but Ill try. 2 years ago it was announced that this was to be an option. Back then I was in favour. I love my country. Those who know me know that I have always been a huge patriot. Not just for my own country, but I love seeing a persons pride in their nation show. Whether that is a Scot donning his kilt at any opportunity, or an Englishman abroad wearing the three lions over his heart. It makes no difference to me. Now, two years on, I still feel the same. But this has now been reinforced by the new knowledge which has come to me. No longer is this just a clichéd FREEDOM movement, but the research, in my opinion, makes it clear that an independent Scotland will be a fairer, more equal society. A modern society. Not one based upon old traditions and where you were educated. I am sick of seeing people living in such poor conditions that they might as well be in some of the most underdeveloped countries on the planet. To have a lower life expectancy than Helmand Province in some parts of our country is inexcusable. This should not be the case for a country so rich in resources, potential and home to some of the greatest minds that Earth has ever seen. I have many friends, some who mean as much to me as family, and indeed, I have real family in England, and it is hard to say I want leave our union. But this does not sever my relationship with them, no more than it does my US, Kenyan or Tanzanian friends. I want Scotland to become a beacon of hope for nations around the world. Not to divorce from certain regions, but to show that UNITED you can stand against a state or institution and say ENOUGH! Whereas our friends in Westminster tell us that we are stronger United and better together, this unfortunately is not true under the stifling system of government which we currently possess. Scotland will be better together and stronger when United. A Scotland where every voice counts and everyone has a say. Thats the kind of better together I want. I leave you this video. Please, vote yes.
