My final student loans went through - yay! Now if only I can maintain this address until they mail me my refund. Ugh. Which brings up a thought: A LOT of full-time students, like me, use their student loans for living expenses, not tuition. Some people think thats dishonest, but it isnt. A student loan is also meant to subsidize your ability to live AS a student. I dont come from a wealthy family, and I dont make much money as an illustrator, and I dont have a day job currently (though I begin one with the IRS later this month). Without my student loans, I could NOT have made ends meet for the last three years. Loans can be for tuition, sure. But they are also for books, fees, room and board. Its an investment against future earnings. Lets all hope I can turn my Law degree into gainful employment and repay my loans. (shudder)
