My final thought before sleep: By now, our entire small town is abuzz with serious allegations regarding a prominent citizen in our midst. I am not here to defend nor judge, as I was not there. To defend, to me, would be to take the word of others, others I dont know, and question their integrity and honesty. To sit in judgement would, to me, convey that I think I am in such a position to do so...and lord knows Im not. That said...social media and a small town can be devastating. I think about this persons spouse and children, all of whom I know personally, the children on whom are old enough to be on social media as well as have their entire friendship circles seeing this stuff on social media as well...and I wonder how they are doing. The news blasts and accusations that are on fire in our community must be affecting them, negatively. To live this in your personal life is one thing...to have intimate details of your parent and spouse blasted for all the world to see...I cant even imagine. So, as I rest my head tonight, I first pray for this persons spouse and children and what THEY, that I presume to be innocent bystanders in all this, are going through. I pray for comfort and strength and grace for them, as well as for anyone else directly involved. And while I understand that the allegations are very serious, I just hope everyone else might remember the kids and maybe use a little more tact on public forums. And maybe yall can say a little prayer for them as well.
