My first awareness that my phone ringer is set too high comes when it wakes me up in the middle of the night like an atom bomb has just gone off next my head. I dont recognize the incoming number, but its a familiar exchange. I answer, and some woman is asking me can you just let us in? My sister has locked me out. Well, the phone number exchange is in Louisiana, and Im in Illinois, so I probably couldnt have let her in if I had been inclined to. Wrong number, I whisper, and disconnect. What I had wanted to say was, EFF YOU! This is a wrong number, and even if it wasnt, I wouldnt let you in after waking me up at a quarter to two in the GD morning! So that got me to thinking: Is there an app that allows you to disconnect calls on your smart phone with the sound of a really loud, annoyed, slamming down of the receiver? Because there ought to be. And it seems to me that someone could make a tidy sum of money creating one. Matthew Chaffin, are you reading?
