My first coach, 1988 Cadillac S&S. I actually found this photo on accident when I met my friend Maggie while browsing her hearse club photo albums. This photo was from after I sold it. I had always wanted a hearse- and when I started my search I was drawn to S&S coaches due to the classy look and the Of course it cost more slogan. I found this one down in Kalamazoo, Mi in a craigslist post being sold from a guy that bought it from a funeral home in Illinois if I remember correctly (I may be mistaken). When I saw it listed I immediately sold my daily driver, which was a late 90s Camaro to buy it, jumped on the bus and headed down there with cash eagerly in hand. When I got it it was literally in mint condition and made the 9 hour drive home flawlessly. I kept it clean, did regular maintenance, etc and everything went great until I met my ex girlfriend. We had plans to move about 8 hours away and decided a trailer would be the best route to move it. We loaded it into a classic car enclosed trailer for the trip along with boxes of our stuff, some furniture, etc. The day before the trip somebody smashed out my back passengers side window. During the trip the trailers tires popped twice, once causing a lot of stuff in the back to fall onto the car denting in the drivers door as well as scratching the shit out of the paint. When we got to the new home, I pulled it out and parked it planning on getting the window fixed. Two of the tires went flat within a week, and by the time I found an air compresser to inflate them enough to get it to a garage my gas lines broke and I had zero brakes. Once I finally got all of that fixed (minus the dent, the rust that appeared in what felt like overnight where the scratches were and the broken window) almost immediately it started losing power and shaking violently any time I tried driving it. I ended up selling it for a fraction of what I paid or even put into it. I guess it hated my ex as much as I did ;) I am just happy to see it up, running, snd even at car shows!
