My first customer of the day at work was a man who was waiting until Zipps Liquors Store would restock their Surly Brewing Company Darkness bottles. Have you heard of it? he asked me. Oh, yeah, Ive heard of it. They just had their Darkness Day recently, he informed me. Oh, yeah, Ive heard of that, too. Then he asks me if its a bourbon barrel beer. No, I let him know, its just a really great imperial stout. Oh, he said, deflatedly, that means its not as good, right? Its terrible, I told him, just leave more on the shelf for me.
