My first marathon is in 26 days. The Route 66 Marathon. Not everyone understands why I run. People try to say its not healthy, its not normal, its not good for me but I beg to differ. By the time training comes to an end I will have ran approximately 489 miles and spent approximately 105 hours TRAINING for this accomplishment, this marathon. Learning not only how to run and what my body needs but learning how to eat trough the week to most efficiently run, learning to hydrate, learning what to use during a race to keep my sugar levels and electrolytes up. Learning what clothes and equipment I like best so I can perform to my fullest and that make me chafe the least. Learning the dedication it takes to MAKE the time to train for this. Learning the patience that I cant just wake up and run a marathon.....I have to train!!! This isnt a punishment for me or my body its a REWARD! Im more in tune with my body now than Ive ever been in my life. My body is growing stronger, my mental strength is growing stronger. Running for me is educating myself, having fun and rewarding myself for my hard work. Im dedicated. Im training. I will finish this!
