My first real job out of college, I had the honor of working for an amazing non-profit organization that brought dance to children in public school. It was there that I met and worked with Lizzie Velasquez , at the time a middle school student with the sunniest personality you could imagine! So sunny that she transcends any assumptions someone might make based just on outside appearances. I have never forgotten her and I LOVED working with her every Saturday morning while she rehearsed dances with the group in the elementary school cafeteria and I was incredibly excited to hear her on The All New JB and Sandy Morning Show this morning! She is all grown up now and wow she is doing amazing work! She was every bit as bright and well-spoken and funny and charming on the radio as she was when I knew her years ago. I am SO proud of her and SO impressed with the project she is pursuing! So much so that I told her I wanted to talk about it on here. And so I am.
