It begins: Susan Hawthornes newest book, Lupa and Lamb, is a bold, provocative—dare I say, transcendent—collection of poems, plays, and lost texts that reclaims the buried mysteries of ancient sites in Rome, Sardinia Malta, Etruria, and Sicily—all with an unapologetic female, feminist sensibility. It ends: Lupa and Lamb is a remarkable achievement from a gifted poet. Hawthornes book is a gem and a must-read for anyone interested in womens spiritual traditions, womens history, mythology, archeology, and archeomythology.
