My first sermon I ever preached was the first Sabbath of Oct.2014 and truly thank our Heavenly Father for this opportunity and for using me to share an important message with the members of the Rio Rancho SDA Church. This is the title and out line of my sermon that was preached this Sabbath. OUR MISSION MATTHEW 28:19-20 Jesus has given all of us a mission to fulfill once we become Bible Believing Christians. Let’s open our Bibles to Matthew 28:19-20 and look at three important points that help us to see and understand what our mission is as followers of our Lord Jesus. MP 1: What is our mission? My Testimony MP 2: Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary. T9 PG 30 Illustration 1: When we were in Oklahoma we were a part of the Oklahoma Conf. Literature Evangelism program and one of our team was having a garage sale at their local Church during the week and they had many people come and were trying to give away our literature to the patrons but no one would accept it. Then the grand daughter who was five years old reminded one of the patrons for their purchase they are welcome to take a free book at first the man was hasten but then asked the little girl which one she would like him to take her reply was the Great Controversy and the man did so after that everyone else also started accepting our literature from our friends grand daughter. MP 3: Will those who do not fulfill the mission that our Lord Jesus be found in heaven? Matt.25:31-46 Eze.33:1-9 Matt.25:14-30 Results of Neglect Wherever a church is established, all the members should engage actively in missionary work. They should visit every family in the neighborhood and know their spiritual condition. If professed Christians had engaged in this work from the time when their names were first placed on the church books, there would not now be such widespread unbelief, such depths of iniquity, such unparalleled wickedness, as is seen in the world at the present time. If every church member had sought to enlighten others, thousands upon thousands would today stand with Gods commandment-keeping people. Summary: He who becomes a child of God should henceforth look upon himself as a link in the chain let down to save the world, one with Christ in His plan of mercy, going forth with Him to seek and save the lost.--The Ministry of Healing, p. 105. Appeal: We all want to Jesus to come back and take us home to be with Him in Heaven right? Then let’s do our part in fulfilling the mission that our Lord Jesus has given each one of us to fulfill in warning our friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors of the soon coming of Jesus that many of them to may learn how to prepare themselves for the second coming of Christ Jesus our soon coming King. Because until we do this Jesus can’t come back. Decision Question? Do you beloved brethren want to be effective missionaries for our Lord Jesus? And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
