My first three thoughts after having joined #Netflix today: (1) These guys really understand the possibilities of the digital: their recommenders -- and the way they design it! (2) These guys really love movies: you can sense that in every pixel and algorithm (they truly WANT you to rate films!) (3) These guys really want to excite their customers -- different profiles for each family member, and the choice between multiple language tracks and subtitles. YES -- for the first I do not have to feel second rate when streaming a movie versus watching the disc! Its like Moviepilot/Flixter meets IMDb meets Amazon. What a terrific blend for film buffs! (and what a gigantic challenge for the Amazons, Skys, Maxdomes and Watchevers of Germanys VoD world!) There are many things than can still be improved (most of them have to do with the content), but overall its quit an impressive demonstration.
