My flat in Juhu is sold.so I guess now I am a legal alien in Mumbai.well not right away.i am coming over,the whole family on the 24th to vote.my last vote for Mumbai north west.and I am voting for, obviously, Raakhi. The first time we voted,(she is older by 7 months),it was in Shivaji park.and I voted for T.Balu.(in the south,thats what senior Thackeray Rao,Saheb Sir Jee is called,if a Shivaji Park middle class lady is rightly elevated to Maa Saheb or was it Akka Saheb,oops, moms tv series, the her husband must get all the titles our western Maharashtra satraps proudly tow along) and after a casual inquiry and then a frenzied white eyed wide eyed nail biting discovery, Nishita had voted for.........ABU Azmi. Wow. That was a first.as my father sagely responded , naa bhooto ,naa bhavishyate. Never before and never after. Arre, mane baddhi gad bad thaie.salo police walo Rushing me.laokar,laokar.i pressed the wrong button. I took great joy in narrating this juicy gossip to my father in law,an erstwhile brown shorts enthusiast.his expression and fatalism confirmed that all undesirable traits in offsprings come from the other spouse. My old friend pankaj damnivala is completely charged urging all and sundry on face book to annihilate the Italian mafia and and join the saffron cohorts of Modi. Such martial spirit from a community that refuses to send even a platoon under arms to the Indian army is truly transforming. This election is truly defining.crores of first time voters.i listen keenly to the feedback around me. And the see the news all channels simultaneously and record them too.afternten years, Nishita brought Modi and Tv news into my life.before that I had quit news on tv or newspapers. Their intolerance and prejudice shocks me.their shameless double speak disgusts me.their shameless disregard for the truth and their utter lack of ability to stay on a subject bewilders me.and watching all this for seven months has confirmed that I am going to vote.NOooo. I am not talking about any politician or political party. Its the JOURNALISTS AND EDITORS. Except Cyrus on the week that wasnt,on a scale of zero to ten on undesirability I would vote the gentle bearded fellow on ndtv .....3,the squint kamat on headlines today ...1,karan thapar(in spite of the put on accent).....2,Arnab of Times Now19,20.21.22 and on and on ad infinitum. And yet I watch Arnab the most.because thats where the shit hits the fan most of the time.the gooeist,stinkiest and shittiiiest.its where all the guttersnipes and vermin congregate.and from all that muck ,I see a lotus rising.and a Shani riding it.harsh and unforgiving.a booming baritone shaking up millions night and day.he is not a nice man.but for very long we have had nice men.thats why Chanchal Laxmi keeps away.the lotus bloom first brings forth Shani who cleanses the courtyard of filth so that the Goddess of wealth shall dance. Modi is a sure thing.democracy ,technology and literacy has brought forth many goods. But there is one community in a minority that is completely ignored.dominated by their offsprings and spouse, carrying the load of expectations of community,country and economy,berated and bullied unfairly by society and government,working quietly and uncomplainingly and deriving happiness from small surreptitious and secretive pastimes and hobbies, the MIDDLE CLASS INDIAN MALE. This time around I am taking my freedom seriously.for 30 seconds I will be alone, truly free and powerful when I make the right CHOICE.all politicians promise fantasies. This time around, ITS RAAKHI SAWANT FOR ME.
