My former neighbor spent his 21st birthday wading ashore through screams, blood, and gurgling death into Hell, that is Normandy, in the desperate struggle to beat back one of the most horrid regimes Humanity has ever known. Now he is frail, like others of his generation, and doesnt have much time left.The unnecessary closing cf the WW2 memorial on the orders of an ungrateful and oblivious president, who wasnt even alive during those days of terror and who might well have lived in a vastly different world if not for the sacrifice of those aging men, the enforcement by the park service, mockery by the likes of Bill Maher, corrupt cheerleading by media whores like Rachel Maddow, and so on is not forgivable. Those of us who understand will not forget this nor will we forgive it. An irrevocable divide has been created.
