My freeboard is chalky and faded, I have polished it but it just reverts to chalky after a few days so I tried something really wacko...I took a can of clear lacquer and sprayed the transom, and around the name at the bow. I was amazed it looks as good as when I spend 30 minutes trying to polish. Of course when I haul the boat out I plan on painting the freeboard too but I think this may work for now and make the boat look a lot better fast. I may purchase some more lacquer - is this a Bubba Whartz story?
