My friend Gary Winston Apple. On Monday morning I made a life-altering decision. I have decided to run for office. I will be filing the necessary paperwork next Monday to enter the Democratic primary for a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives. I reside in the 29th District. The seat is currently held by a Republican (Noel Torpey). Two other Democratic candidates have filed for the primary, which will be held August 5th. I am hard at work putting together campaign materials and plans. It will not be your typical campaign. John F. Kennedy once said Every mother in America wants her son to grow up to be president, but she doesnt want him to become a politician in the process. My lovely and supportive wife Marys primary concern is that she does not want me to become a politician. And I plan to alleviate her concern. My campaign will not be politics as usual. I want to share my ideas for making Missouri, the United States, and the world a better place. I believe that working through the Democratic Party is the best way to do that. Whether I win my race or not, I hope that we will see a revolution take place on November 4th. The type of revolution envisioned in my official campaign theme song:
