My friend Ian Byrne has written an amazing tribute to the most sobering place Ive ever been. The Granite Mountain/Speculator memorial is the location of the worst hard rock mining tragedy in history. I stood there many many times. Ian is an amazing talent but how he nails this song is unbelievable. As I listened to The Miners from his album I was taken again to that place. To those who have stood there with me - listen carefully. Tell me you can feel the breeze blow over that hallowed hill as this Celtic tune carries you there. Silenced again as you were that first time you stood speechless at the sobering thought of 168 miners trapped and dying just below where you stood. Thank you again Ian! This is an amazing work!!!
