My friend Jessica McElwee and I did our good deed for the day. A homeless man was looking for a blanket for the evening since its slightly chilly and he had no sweater/jacket. Jess happened to have a blanket in her car, which she offered the man, which inspired me. I offered to buy him a hot coffee to help warm him up. He is now walking around wrapped up very stylishly in a slightly girly blanket and drinking his nice hot k-cup coffee. You never know why someone ends up where they do. Everyones story is different. Who are we to judge them all the same just because some of them (maybe most but definitely not all) made bad choices. He asked for a blanket. Not money. And respectfully called us both maam when we offered what we did. Coffee costs $2. I can make that in less than a minute at work. Helping this man is definitely worth less than a minute of my time.
