My friend Marlene Ivette rescued a dog in Puerto Rico. Here is Marlenes message, please read: Marlene: So here is the back story of our little sweety. She used to stay at a running track where many stray dogs stay about 4 miles from here. This lady, Paola Lizzette Rivera who loves animals goes to the track every day to feed them all. She had a special soft spot for this doggy she named Nena. She wished she could bring her home but she already has TEN rescued dogs and a cat and her mom forbid her to bring another. But Paola fed her daily and massaged her hip after she was injured by the car. She wanted to bring her to a vet but every time she picked her up Nena would howl in pain so Paola hadnt been able to but Nena adored her and would try to follow her home every day. One day someone abandoned two very abused and scarred up dogs bred to fight and one of the dogs attacked Nena and that is why she left her home and ran on an injured hip 4 miles to my front door. When I posted pictures of Nena on rescue sites Paola contacted me immediately and explained she had been searching for her for two weeks. She was able to find boarding for her and a vet who will fix her hip. And here I recorded the reunion of Nena and the only mommy she has ever known.
