My friend Rhoda Rogers just gave me a new number (of random realities in my life). It is such an interesting challenge, coming up with 10 more things that could be interesting to anyone (including me) : so, interesting or not, here they come:1) I was a bossy little girl, but nice, I think. 2) I had a very strained relationship with my brother (who I adored) for most of my life; such a waste! 3) Growing up on a horse farm (outside of Newtown, PA), I used to ride my bike in ballet slippers (not smart, but I could never give it all over to being a proper Tom-Boy) 4) I was always a bit boy crazy - my first kiss was on the playground in first grade, to Ray, the boy who could run 2nd fastest, after me!, 5) My first job (I lied about my age, and looked a lot older) was at the Record Stall in the Atlantic Thrift (in Bristol) when I was 12 (Ive always been a good salesperson, if it was something I really like!) I had always excelled at selling greeting cards or garden seeds or Girl Scout cookies, door to door. 6) I won scholarships to Girl Scout Camp(ToHiKaNee) twice (wrote an assay to win). Most of the other girls were home sick, but I loved it so much, I only cried when it was over! 7) I met my ex-husband in Boston (although we lived 1/2 mile apart, and his sister was in my class in H.S.) and, although I was anything but anxious to be married, I knew the first week I met him that Id marry him. 8) Hung out with Janis Joplin, Buddy Miles (Electric Flag) and the Chambers Brothers when I was doing body painting at The Electric Factory. 9) I worked with an inmate group of lifers in Trenton State Prison for a year or two, when I was in my 20s, helping them to open a business in Trenton, and doing counselling (with the Thresholds program) Loved these guys - they treated me like a Queen! 10) I used to teach pottery classes in the basement of our apartment building in Trenton on a wheel my ex-husband built for me. (If it werent for my spinal issues Id still be doing pottery - I loved it so much!) OK. Thats it. Stick a fork in me Im done!
