My friend Sara Cassidy sent this to me asking how I felt about this article about how to be the friend of someone who is grieving. I told her it was spot on. Mostly I love that she asked because I know her so well....she is wanting to help me the best way she can (dont you worry Sara...I know you are right beside me every day). I am blessed with many friends who are present....my go to gals and guys. Present doesnt mean with me physically...it means people who have demonstrated a remarkable capacity for compassion and patience in 1000 little ways. People who have problems of their own that I havent been able to reciprocate very well on recently. These are people near and far away, some I have known for years, some I run into here and there, and some I havent met personally (i know, right?) They are truly healers on earth though I suspect they dont realize it because they just are. I honestly wonder why God surrounded me with so many. Maybe to prepare me for my now, maybe to teach me. I can honestly say I am surrounded by them...what a blessing.
